Problem

Software Integrator Ltd had won a  complex systems integration contract that
required they worked in a consortium with other suppliers.  With a number of
such contracts well advanced in the sales pipeline SI Ltd suddenly learned of
major problems with the supply partners when  key deliverables were
missed. ePCI was engaged to identify the source of the problems with supply
partners and to stop them from recurring.
CASE STUDY:  Supply Chain Strategic Partner Management
Approach

A diagnostic phase that analysed the contracting process, risk/reward model,
project management processes and organisation was followed by redesign
and implementation phases.
Results

Improved processes were introduced for third-party supplier management,
outsourcing-contract risk management, purchasing, and project
management; organisation and responsibilities were re-aligned. The
performance of subsequent projects was secured.
Benefits

A multimillion euro
development contract was
put back on track.  The
new organisation and
processes secured future
strategic partner
relationships bringing
price, expertise and
productivity benefits to SI
Ltd. and thereby access to
new markets.
